How WoofBook handles payments for dog care facilities.
WoofBook lets your facility accept payments from Pawrents directly. We use Stripe as our payment infrastructure partner, which means your customers pay you, funds land in your bank account, and WoofBook never holds your money.
How it works
Your facility connects its own Stripe account to WoofBook through Stripe Connect, Stripe's platform-to-business integration designed for software like ours. When a Pawrent pays for a booking, the payment is processed by Stripe, the funds are paid out to your bank on Stripe's standard payout schedule, and WoofBook receives a webhook telling us the booking is paid. We never see, hold, or touch your money.
Onboarding takes a few minutes. From inside WoofBook you sign in to Stripe (or create an account), complete Stripe's verification checks, and your facility is ready to accept payments.

- Klarna and other pay-later options where supported by Stripe
- In-person card payments through Stripe Terminal
- Recurring memberships and saved cards for repeat bookings
- Refunds initiated from inside WoofBook, processed by Stripe
- Automatic email receipts to Pawrents
Security and compliance
Card details are tokenised by Stripe and never touch WoofBook's servers. Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 certified, the highest tier of payment security compliance. Sensitive cardholder data is handled inside Stripe's environment for the entire payment lifecycle. WoofBook stores only the references and metadata needed to display, reconcile, and report on transactions inside your dashboard.
All webhook events from Stripe are verified using Stripe's signing secret, so we can be confident that payment confirmations come from Stripe and have not been tampered with.
Fees and transparency
You pay Stripe's standard processing fees, charged directly by Stripe at the rates published at stripe.com/gb/pricing. In addition, WoofBook charges a 0.75% platform fee on card transactions processed through our integration.
No WoofBook platform fee applies to Direct Debit. You pay only Stripe's standard Bacs Direct Debit fees (currently 1%, capped at £4 per transaction). For higher-value transactions like memberships or boarding stays, that cap can make Direct Debit significantly cheaper to collect than card payments.
The platform fee, where applicable, is deducted at the time of payment alongside Stripe's fees, and the net amount is paid into your bank account on the payout schedule you configure inside Stripe.
Our integration
WoofBook is built as a Stripe Connect platform. We use Stripe Payment Intents end-to-end for card-on-file charges, Stripe Terminal for in-person payments, and Stripe's webhook system for reconciliation. Our integration is live in production and verified against Stripe's API.
